DVSA-Approved-driving-instructor

Terms and Conditions

Qualifications
I am a fully qualified Government Approved Driving Instructor and am legally authorised, to provide driving tuition in the UK by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).

Driving licence & eyesight.

You must be 17 years old and hold a current valid licence (either provisional or full) which must be produced on the first lesson. I will run a licence check before your first lesson, to ensure that you are entitled to drive on the roads. You must also be able to meet the minimum eyesight requirement (read a number plate from 20 metres) Please note if you need contact lenses or glasses to achieve this you must ensure you wear them on every driving lesson.

Payments

Payment is required 48 hours prior to lessons via bank transfer, these details will be sent to you. I cannot chase payments, so it is your responsibility to pay within the time required. If payment is consistently late you risk losing your slot in my diary, should there be a valid reason why payment may be late please let me know as soon as possible.

Lesson Cancellations

I require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice should you need to cancel a lesson. If you cancel after that time, then you will be charged for the full lesson fee. If you cancel regularly with no apparent reason, you then risk losing lessons with me completely and your diary space will be re allocated. In the event of sickness or family emergencies please inform me as soon as possible. Should I have to cancel you given any of these reasons, I will look to rebook you a replacement lesson as best I can. I cannot be held responsible for the postponement of any lesson because of heavy traffic or a mechanical fault with my training car.

Punctuality

In your own interest it is advised you are punctual for your lesson; any lateness will be deducted, and your lesson will still finish at the agreed time. Upon arrival for your lesson, I will wait for a maximum of 15 minutes, should you not arrive for your lesson you will still be charged.  A reciprocal waiting time may become necessary if I am delayed due to unforeseen circumstances or due to traffic situations.  In this instance I will make up any lesson time lost as a result at the end of the normal lesson or as soon as possible on another lesson.

Driving under the influence

To ensure the safety of you and other road users I reserve the right to cancel any lesson if you are or if I suspect you are under the influence of drugs (prescribed or otherwise) unfit to drive due to ill health and/or alcohol. If this occurs the lesson will not go ahead, and the lesson fee will still be charged.

Use of my training car

Whilst you are in control of my car, you must keep to all current speed limits & rules of the road. As your instructor, I will be keeping an eye on your speed and driving during every lesson. Should at any point I consider your driving to be dangerous or illegal the lesson will be instantly terminated and the fee charged. I reserve the right to withdraw my training car from your driving test if in my opinion your driving is not up to test standards.

Complaints

If for any reason you are unhappy with any part of the lesson or service I’ve provided, please let me know as soon as possible. I will do my upmost to rectify any problems raised and make any necessary changes going forward.
